Analyzing Traffic the difference between Visitors vs. Hits
11 March 2011

2. See how much time a visitor actually spends on a site. This will tell whether they have found the site interesting or not and whether the site needs to be rethought
3. Check where the traffic is coming from. By doing this it is possible to see which source is the most productive and shows which sites are best suited to link to in the futureKnown paying sources should be kept separately to determine how much productivity they provide to the site. This in turn will determine whether or not it is worth continuing paying for. Base any decisions on the traffic that it attracts along with the comparison to actual conversion and sales ratios. If analyzed separately from organic (non-paid link sharing) it will give a much clearer picture of how each of the sources are truly benefitting a site.Stay focussed and do not become distracted by statistics that programs track. Try not to spend too much time deciphering numbers and always apply self discipline when analyzing traffic.
