Advanced Operator Techniques for Link Building

Advanced Operator Techniques for Link Building
Over the years, there have been countless strategies birthed from the common need to traffic websites. Many different strategies are still currently viable in todays marketplace, but link building is by far the mother of all. Learning some advanced link-building techniques can easily increase your traffic flow and ultimately help your business to succeed.

In simple terms, link building is the process of creating inbound links to your own website by way of reciprocal links (link sharing), newsletters, directories, paid advertising and many, many more techniques. Simply linking articles in a host of general directories could be enough to spell success. It all depends on where you market and what youre marketing.

When you think of advanced techniques, dont picture doctoral degrees and MIT graduates changing the game to where the common businessperson cannot compete. In this context, advanced is more the opposite of a spamming rookie whose links are quickly removed by search engines or are so out of touch that they dont drive traffic.

You have to be gentle on search engines, social sites and directories. Thats the first advanced technique well discuss here.

No matter where youre linking at, the idea is to be subtle. On one hand, you may want to enter an article into a popular directory weighed down with keywords and blatantly linked. Well, not only will this turn readers off, but it may be removed. Instead, make your content informative and use just one to three links in the content.

You also want to measure and watch your quantity. Although youre providing quality content thats not weighed down with keywords and links, you still dont want to submit a lot of content to the same source. Again, youll be a spammer.

Variety is the spice of life, and its the surefire way to have a successful link-building campaign, no matter which avenue you choose. Attack a variety of sites using a variety of topics and make sure your text and links flow naturally together.

If youre pitching a weight-loss product, then you wouldnt link this in a gambling article.

One technique that could be considered advanced is more of a little known method to most people who are link building. If youre writing an informative piece of content and have a good keyword to use, then link the keyword for the search engines benefit.

However, this is only half the battle the above-mentioned is the widely known part. Heres the rub: unless your surrounding content is actually similar, your page will eventually be read as spam. So in order to pull off this technique, the content has to be as on topic as it can possibly be.

Another technique that could also be considered advanced is one that many shy away from due to heavy rates of decline. Finding a popular blog and asking the webmaster to post your content can be a marriage made in heaven. They get new content and possibly a little money, and you have a link there for all to see.

However, the standards are extremely strict here. So most people feel they cant go this route, because the content has to be top quality. If you can provide great content, whether you do it yourself or outsource it, youre looking at a great link-building technique.
