Attracting Loyal, Profitable Clients
24 November 2010

No matter what type of business you're planning on running, customers are going to be the most important part of the operation. Even if you do everything right, follow the correct steps, invest your money wisely and offer a good product or service, the business is still going to go belly up unless clients step in and start purchasing from you. Its just a simple fact of business.
Obviously, you're going to work extremely hard to keep your customers happy. You'll make sure that your product is good so they're satisfied. You'll cater especially to your prospective clients to get them to your business and to get them to ultimately purchase your product or service.
However, all of these steps are sometimes only good in the short term. Far too often, customers pull a drive-by on your business, purchasing products or services and leave never to be heard of again. This isn't good for a long-term businessperson. You want to make sure you attract loyal customers meaning that they'll return to do business with you regularly.
Whats the difference between drive-by customers and loyal customers? Well, its essentially the difference in opening a business and keeping it open. More than likely, you're not going to be able to get enough one-time unique customers to stay afloat. You'll need a hefty percentage of your customers to come back again and again.
When talking about attracting loyal, profitable clients to your business, what you're aiming for above all else is customer satisfaction. This holds true whether you're a lawyer, run a massage therapy studio, operate a blog business or even resell products on auction sites like eBay. Business is business, and attracting customers and turning them into loyal clients is the name of the game.
To satisfy customers, you have to make sure your business does a few things well. First up, pay attention to the type of product/service you're offering. Is it something your customers are satisfied with? Its not only about getting them to buy from you; you also want them to be happy with what they've purchased.
To this end, its important that you believe in your company's product/service and work to make sure that its worth coming back for.Next, take a look at how you're treating your customers. Like it or not, you cant traffic in loyal clients. They have to be earned. This means you'll need a crack customer service option probably a team to make sure all of your customers needs and concerns are addressed.
What kinds of deals do you offer to your clients? You might think that two-for-ones cheapen your business name, or that discounts come off as generic, but one of the best ways to create loyal customers is to give them a break in the pricing department on their future purchases.
Above all else, you need to be professional and memorable. Always come across as courteous to your customers, and always leave a lasting impression by becoming the go-to business they rely on when they need something.
