Business Book Review: Magic of Selling by Dan Hollis
25 October 2010
Some will say that the start-up entrepreneur is always at a disadvantage simply because the market operates tirelessly without their presence, and that the odds are stacked against anyone attempting to carve out a niche. Others, however, say this is not the case, and that so many successful entrepreneurs simply mean that there's an abundance of successful formulas. When it comes to information on how to work your way from a start-up business person with an idea to a successful marketer, there are countless systems and books out there to try. One of the most popular for aspiring entrepreneurs is The Magic of Selling by Dan Hollis.Hollis' work is available in many formats, including book, eBook and CD, and the purpose of the work is to assist individuals considering taking on sales as a business. The Magic of Selling: A Treasure Map for the Future Successful Salesperson was constructed both to provide adequate help in the field and to provide some entertainment. It's fun to read.

Self-Belief - The Difference between Success and Failure
15 October 2010
A lot can be said about a person's belief in his or herself. Most of us are fortunate enough to have grown up in families with at least one loving parent, wherein belief in one's self was perpetuated in one way or another, whether through academic achievement, sports, or any other task set in front of us. Self-belief, the confidence to make it, is a huge factor in our lives. In this day and age, the idea of self-belief gets a little blown out of proportion. Paying someone to give you reassurance via therapy or motivational seminars may have immediate effect on your person; but, ironically, no message gets through until you believe in yourself and that's something only you can make happen as an individual. In business, self-belief is a huge part in what drives successful entrepreneurs and the companies they run. A lack of self-belief is a prime culprit in failure, and some may argue the only conceivable reason for failure. After all, we share ideas, markets and marketing techniques, but even the most watered down business idea can achieve success with the right person behind it.

Advancing Your Business - Partner, Promote and Profit
12 April 2010
Starting your business begins with an idea. Nothing has ever fallen into an entrepreneur's lap; it's all been about thinking up a unique idea and angle, and pursuing it fervently to see it through fruition. There are many ways in which you can go about starting a business. In this article, we'll cover the three Ps: Partner, promote and profit. First up is the partner. Now, like a marriage, you're going to want trust, devotion and still an informal relationship that involves some enjoyment outside of the business arena. Although the last point isn't vitally essential, it still helps tremendously to forge a friendship with a business partner, allowing for regular dialog and a positive attitude. Finding a business partner shouldn't be hard work if the business idea is worth pursuing. You would be surprised at how many people jump at the chance to take part in a business they think will be profitable. It's a possible life-changing venture that brings out the entrepreneur in us all.
