How to Find Out How Many Sites Are Linked to Yours, and Who They Are

As you may or may not know, your Google search ranking is dependent on a number of factors, numbering as many as 30, which change often as Google adjusts its algorithms.

One of the biggest contributing factors to this is the page’s PageRank (named after Larry Page, one of Google’s founders). PageRank was developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while still students at Stanford, and today it forms the basis of Google’s search algorithms.

Trade linking helps sites in two ways. By linking a site to another site, or for that matter many other sites, traffic is generated between each of the sites. It also improves search engine rankings, something everyone wants to achieve. In order to trade links a site needs to find other sites that are willing to trade.

Search engines like links between sites because rankings are calculated by the number of links that are created to a site that needs to be ranked. It is the algorithms that determine this when ranking a site. The fact that it has lots of links going back to it must have relevance and therefore it must be a good site. This process will earn the site higher rankings.
