Google Analytics is a Vital SEO Tool - Have you Discovered It?
13 September 2010

One of the most appealing aspects of Google Analytics is that its free. Many similar tools on the market, while maybe having a more feature-rich interface, cost money while not really doing anything more than what Googles program can. The fact that anyone can quickly use this tool when they need it and discard it when they dont is a rather attractive quality. Its also a practical tool used by webmasters to track traffic on the sites they run, and its definitely a useful tool for markers wanting to track not only a competitors traffic, but also track exactly how visitors ended up at the website.Google Analytics provides useful data across the board. For starters, you can track visitors from just your referrers to see how any affiliates you have are really doing in terms of driving traffic to your site. You can also track the statistics of how many people arrived at your site via search engines. This will allow you to get a better overall picture of how your marketing is working. The search engine tracking feature alone means that youll be able to hone in on the keywords youre using. If you find out the keywords youre using are working effectively, then you can traffic in more visitors through more mediums using those words. If theyre not working, youll know to replace them. For any business that needs a boost, tracking and analyzing data to make sure youre heading in the right direction is an invaluable method. Googles tool might not be the absolute best on the market at tracking and compiling the data, but its free, easy to use and will definitely give you a good idea about website visitors and how theyre landing on the page.
