How to Set Up a Successful Google AdWords Campaign

With Google AdWords, one of the more popular routes to pursue, the success is everywhere. Hordes of people can attesft to the formula. Making it work, however, is another story entirely.

A successful Google AdWords campaign can be set up easily after learning a few essential steps. The first thing you want to do is familiarize yourself with everything you need to know about AdWords. Read various blogs and user reviews to become familiar with how the whole thing works.

Next, you’ll need to find and focus on a unique value proposition. Basically, you’re looking for something to make you stand out from the many competitors out there.

With AdWords, it’s imperative that you focus only on the most relevant keywords. There may be more popular keywords out there, but the ones you choose need to be appropriate for what you’re offering. This is one of the keys to conversion.

The next step is to set up your website. Of course, you can always outsource this. With the current state of the economy, there are many talented web designers working in the freelance field and charging far less than they ever have before. You can always shop around for the best employee, or you can tackle the task yourself.

If you’re going with the hands-on approach, you will need to make sure you have great landing pages, an email newsletter that will really capture the attention of your customers, and have a friendly, inviting layout that doesn’t appear as if you’re trying to “sell” anything.

Next up, build a list of keyword phrases and themes, and even single words that you plan on targeting. Google has great keyword tools to use for this. After this, we’re ready to get into the actual AdWords campaign. When you’re creating a new campaign, it doesn’t hurt to bid higher for terms than you normally would. You can’t just flood one page with all terms. Quality counts.

You may run into keywords that are too expensive. This is where you can be creative. Use similar terms. They might not generate quite as much traffic, but keywords go through valleys and peaks. A similar term today might be the most-searched term tomorrow. And in closing, remember that it’s important to analyze your keywords frequently: The idea being to optimize your PPC campaign.
