International Payment Processing in Online Industries
12 May 2010

Using PayPal as an example, this payment processor is able to handle a wide range of currencies. Not only do they provide instant, one-click payment options for shoppers, but they also provide the shopping carts and take care of the legwork for the merchant. This is something that most people cannot handle by themselves. Having to convert currency for every customers tastes would be impossible; and to have alternate currencies set up on your site would just make it look generic and confusing. A payment processing system is essential for any online business. Until a few years ago, these payment processing companies werent so widespread. As you can imagine, processors were extremely reluctant to give their backing to online businesses as the operational risk was simply too high. After all, a person could enter their CC numbers and click a button for quick payment. There was no one there to check ID and no one had to sign a form. That has all changed now, however, and there are many payment processing options to choose from. PayPal is the most popular, but customers need to have a PayPal account to use that option. So its a good idea to use another payment processing system even if you have one like PayPal.You can find processing organizations out there offering credit card processing for an international market online, over the phone, and some have even evolved to take checks (e-checks). Entering International payment processing into any search engine will reveal page after page of competing online payment processing companies. Handling international payments is no longer a tricky process. The only thing online merchants have to watch out for are shoddy companies. Your best bet is to explore your options, read user reviews, and find a site with ample protection against fraud and a clean record of business.
