Marketing Online Viral
18 June 2011

In business, you will find and undoubtedly learn many various marketing techniques that will help your chances of business success. In today's world, many of these methods are centered on the Internet, using its endless potential to help you market your brand to customers. With all the many methods you will learn about, viral marketing is one of the most essential.
Viral marketing can be explained in many ways, but the easiest way to think about it is the proverbial buddy system, or word of mouth. In essence, you meet and greet people with viral marketing material and, hopefully, your company's name will be passed on by your contacts to their contacts.
Of course, successful businesses are not run on hopefully, so you must use the Internet to your utmost advantage and ensure that you have viral marketing success.
To ensure your success, you must start with the basics and nothing is more basic in any sort of marketing campaign than actually building the campaign. You want to put a strong strategy in place and follow it for the best results.
Start out by knowing exactly who you want to target. Look at it this way: if your material is seen by Joe, and he likes your ad/product/business, etc, he may be inclined to pass the information on to John, thus reaching a market that you cannot. So, catering to your market specifically is the first step in viral marketing.
Articles, e-zines and newsletters are a great way to implement a viral marketing strategy. Of course, you will want to be creative here. If you have any relative news, any how-to guides, any sort of information, etc, then getting it out there and getting people interested about it can cause it to go viral.
Those two aforementioned words are very important when dealing with this type of marketing go viral.
This is a term that every Internet user is aware of. It happens when someone throws up a funny video on a site like YouTube, for example, and it ends up getting a million hits in a week and becoming one of the more popular trends online.
Does every person who watches the video find it through search engines? Do they intentionally look for it on their own? No, of course not they find the video, more than likely, through a suggestion. Either they checked a third-party site for funny videos, or a friend told them to check it out.
That's what you're hoping to accomplish with viral marketing online the word of mouth that drives people to your business.
The more creative you can become with this campaign, the more people will be entertained and persuaded by your business and ultimately pass on the information.
You can deal with podcasts and original videos, eBooks, making colorful ads and distributing them via social networking sites the options are endless. The key factor here is to remain interesting and original. If you can do that, then you should have no problem going viral in your particular niche.
