Social Networking And Other Keys To Online Business Success
07 July 2010
When you think of home business opportunities, you may immediately get a picture in your head of an envelope licking scam or a pyramid scheme. These ideas sell in huge numbers under the false premise that there's a magic formula to making money online. Well, there are surely ways to make money via the Internet, but there's certainly no magic involved. In order to create a successful online business, you basically have to make your own opportunity. Everyone wishes that there was some golden opportunity out there, where you could double-click your mouse and have cash flow into your PayPal account it just doesn't work like that. The brutal truth about the Internet situation is that the real opportunities haven't changed much at all. The best business ideas today have been the best business ideas for nearly a decade. The only real factor that's changed now is the marketing possibilities via
social networking giants like Digg, HubPages, FaceBook, MySpace,
Twitter and YouTube.
Starting out with a tried and true winner, blogging is still one of the best online opportunities today. Of course, it takes a while to perfect. You need to build up a loyal following, provide constant content that's both original and interesting, and you have to put the time in to join other people's blogs and to participate in the community. It can be done, though, and with so many ads available from ClickBank, Google and other sources in the form of pop-ups, video ads and basic ads, a simple blog with medium-level traffic can pull in thousands per year if it's maintained properly. Becoming a populist via social networking sites is also proving to be a lucrative career for some. For example, thousands of the popular posters on YouTube are earning ad revenue share from the site. It takes work to make original videos, do your due diligence around the YT community and find people to follow your accounts, but there's money to be made. The best part about the Internet is that everything is connected. You can use YouTube to make money while easily driving traffic to your account via other social networking sites. The same goes for blogs,
affiliate marketing or anything else you want to do. Speaking of affiliate marketing it's another business opportunity that has been a solid earner for years, with millions of affiliates taking advantage of other people's products to earn a commission. Some people like taking it a step higher with the reselling of products on sites like eBay. For either of those opportunities, you basically need the same tactics. You'll need to create a website or at least a web presence, and you'll need to have a large reach and be able to drive in traffic. If you can traffic in customers, then any opportunity is going to be golden. In fact, traffic and marketing are the only online tactics that have proven to be sustainable.
