What exactly is Search Engine Optimization or SEO
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving your website’s rankings in the search engines. This allows more traffic to flow to your site, and, more importantly, drives more targeted traffic to your site with the use of proper keywords and linking. Together, these steps will make your website rank higher in the search engine result pages and increase targeted traffic to your site.

The use of targeted keywords is a vital part of SEO. The use of broad keywords related to your site throughout your WebPages is important, especially keywords that are in the title of your WebPages. This is due to the website spiders which crawl WebPages assigning page rank.

They particularly pick up on title keywords the most. Because spiders can’t make sense of what your page is about exactly, keywords are one of the most important factors in SEO. This means that your page could be the best in the world, but without the proper keywords, the page may never be ranked high, and vice versa.

A good method to try is using keywords which are more specific to your webpage. Even if the keywords aren’t very popular, don’t worry. In some cases, it is these keywords that drive the most targeted traffic. This just means that there will be fewer results on the result pages, meaning less competition, higher page rank, and the all-important targeted visitors.

Linking is another important part of SEO. This involves adding links to your page of higher ranked WebPages. This helps by making the spiders follow your links back to higher ranked pages, leading them to think your page is more valid. But this alone can’t ensure a high page ranking.

To get a high rank, you may need to get higher ranked WebPages to link back to your page. Normally, you will need to have pages with good content in order for the high ranked pages to link back to you. So, quite simply, make a good site and you will get links back to your page. With a good site, other people will stand in line to link and get linked to your page, creating a spider-web effect and making your website show up all over the web.

Properly used SEO techniques have made millionaires out of people with horrific ideas for businesses. This just proves, once again, that success is all about placement in the world of Search Engine Optimization. Most people don’t realize that number-one on your Google won’t always be your best choice. But for internet marketers, the number-one spot is the Holy Grail.
