When one thinks about online marketing today it is pretty evident that search and social media are developing at a rate that is quite bewildering.

Proof of this fact is the traffic that Google or Twitter, now attracts to their websites. What is more astonishing is that Facebook now tops Google in weekly web traffic. The conclusion is that social media is intense.

With this in mind it is necessary to look to the future of mobile devices such as mobiles and iPads because they offer other search channels to the user and, it goes without saying, to the marketer as well.

Marketers have to recognise that these channels are where the customer is now looking on a regular basis. The social user is constantly hungry for information and likes to share this information with others. This being said it is an obvious platform for a new concept in online marketing.A marketer who is on the ball will realise that this platform offers online marketing a new area to work from. But they will need to redefine it by engaging active marketing strategy with the disciplines of search, social media, content and online public relations for it to work.

This is a task that will be avidly followed by the serious marketer who is constantly looking for new areas to work in.

Marketers need to improve the experience in brand and consumer interaction because it is now an accepted fact that anyone visiting a site needs to get involved in the site, and they need to do this instantly.

Should online marketing get the platform within mobile devices the demand for more social interaction will be even more intense so it goes without saying that the experience will have to be easy, pleasant and involve as much interaction as possible.

All this has to be achieved without losing sight that at the end of it there will be a sale made to the customer or at the very least get the customer to return to the site at a later date.

Social media and customer marketing is a growth area that needs to be refined. It needs the best of online marketing adapted onto the mobile devices that everyone owns these days.

These devices are used constantly for business or social reasons, so the platform already exists. It is just a question of being able to access it for it to become a fantastic marketing tool.

There are companies who are sanctioning ecommerce on Facebook. It is companies like these who will promote online marketing through the channels that mobile devices offer for the future of online marketing to develop into an even stronger form of marketing.

With the options available the future of online marketing married to mobile devices can only be seen to be dynamic. It just needs to be well thought through so that commerce and social networking can be intelligently combined offering huge potential to every marketer who is waiting with baited breathe for it to happen.
